The Pacific coasts of Central America is one of the few places left where Olive Ridley Turtles nest in their massive arribados colonies. Thus if the timing is right you may come across waves of these 'tired' turtles floating in the sea. They are the second smallest of the marine turtles and if you can make out the scutes on their faded shells, this species is unique in having at least six of these thin costal scales (as in image below).
