Florican Grasslands
Cambodia

The Florican Grasslands are an area of flat, open grasslands in northern Cambodia. They are known as an area where the rare bird, the Bengal Florcian, (a black and white Bustard) can be seen doing their breeding display.

Yes, the Bengal Florican displays a long way away!

There are other open country birds to be seen here, including...

Pied Bushchat

And if you have a guide, you might be able to track down owls in the area...

Spotted Owlet

The Florican Grasslands are several hours drive north of Siem Reap.

Updates
My first trip after the virus is as Expedition leader in Tasmania with Coral Expeditions (March), followed by my role as biologist guest lecturer on the Great Barrier Reef (April) and Expedition Leader in the Kimberley (in May). If you can't go travelling until everything settles down, then until then, here I am doing online guided walks for Noble Caledonia and online lectures for Silversea.
