Where to buy books...

This page contains the locations of websites and actual stores that are good sources for books on natural history.

The Ecosystem Guides

Have to plug my own books of course!
click here to look at the "Ecosystem Guides".

In Australia generally...

For the largest range of natural history books in Australia, there is

Andrew Isles. You can check out their website, order their catalogue, or you can visit them if you live in, or are visiting, Melbourne. You have to catch the train to the station of Prahan, then wander up Greville street to the corner of Grattan street, you then have to go into the first alley on the left, and then ring the buzzer so they'll let you in. Upstairs you are rewarded with a huge room full of nature books!

Western Australia

If you find yourself in Broome, in Australia's remote north-west,then, amazingly enough, you will find one of Australia's best little bookstores for natural history and aboriginal references, the Kimberley Bookstore.

Sydney

When I am in Sydney, there are many bookstores, but I find the best for nature focused books are:

the Royal Botanical Gardens shop

and

the Australian Museum store.

Darwin and the Northern Territory

The best places are:

the Charles Darwin University bookstore

and

the Northern Territory University (they are small, but they sell my 'tropical seashores' book, and have a nicely located cafe).

and on the internet...

And I guess everyone knows this place, it offers a lot of bargains, but be warned it is addictive if you love books! Amazon Books
