Seashells
Looking for seashells is one of the most best things to do along beaches. But it is a good idea not to collect them, for several reasons. Even a small amount of collecting (but from a large range of visitors) can result in there being less shells. They may one day provide a home for another critter, such as a hermit crab. Or even worse, they may even a be a current home for a crab, a fact you might not realise until your shell starts crawling around in your luggage or on your shelf. Also, many places that are visited, such as islands of the Great Barrier Reef, it is against the law to collect shells.
But are there any dangerous seashells I shouldn't pick up?
