Woodlands and Forests of south-east Australia

Apart from the rainforest and the arid zones, much of Australia's forest, woodlands and grasslands are dominated by Eucalyptus trees.

The Eucalyptus forests of the south-east are the most well known and loved for most Australians and overseas visitors, because they are the most visited and because they are home to some of Australia's most beloved and famous inhabitants.

No doubt the most popular species in the Eucalypt woodlands is the koala.
