General day tours and charters

If you have a limited amount of time or are booked and locked in at your hotel in Cairns, then there are many one day tour options available, and your hotel or a nearby agency will be happy to sell you one.

There are many companies that do day trips to the Daintree, and they are all pretty similar, and be aware that it is a long day and a huge drive on the same road up and back down again. Down Under Tours is one of the companies I have workd for in the last few years. They include morning tea, a guided walk around the daintree Discovery Centre, lunch, a visit to Cape Trib, and a boat cruise on the Daintree River.

Less famous but just as pretty, is the Atherton Tablelands. One of the companies I have done some work for is Northern Experience. They are run by a nice guy called Brett who usually drives the tour himself. The tour does a loop around the tablelands, visiting Lake Barrine, Milla Milla Falls, Babina Boulders, and spends the afternoon at Paronella park.
