What is the biggest wave recorded?
The biggest wave recorded was a rogue wave.
When waves combine on a very large scale they may form ‘Rogue Waves’. These rare combinations of waves can get to enormous heights.
It was once thought that the physical maximum for the height of a surface wave was 18 metres,
however, larger waves of 30 metres have been recorded,
with the cruise ship QE2 being hit by a wave of 29 metres in 1996.

Of course the most famous large waves are the 'tidal waves' or tsunamis...
How are tidal waves (tsunamis) created?
